A very successful Kick off meeting of the BioEnergyTrain Project was held in Brussels on June 16-17, 2015 during the European Union Sustainable Energy Week.
Special guests from the European Commission were the Project Officer Emilio Font de Mora, Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), and Miroslava Naneva, Policy Officer at DG Research & Innovation.
The aims of the meeting were to lay sound foundations for a fruitful cooperation within the project and ensure an efficient project implementation.
During the event a press conference was held for rising awareness among European key players about the project.The BET Press Conference speakers included Josef Fürlinger, CEO RIC, BRP Powertrain and Brigitte Hasewend, BET Project Coordinator as well as Michael Narodoslawsky, Graz University of Technology and Sjoerd van Tongeren, University of Twente. The Press conference highlighted the project aims and goals such as creating a network of tertiary education institutions, research centres, professional associations, and industry stakeholders encompassing the whole value chain of bioenergy as well as fostering European cooperation to provide a highly skilled and innovative workforce following the recommendations of the SET-Plan Education Roadmap.
