The eseia Team, headed by the eseia Director Brigitte Hasewend, manages and coordinates the services and operations of the Alliance. It implements the eseia Strategy 2030 together with the eseia Working Groups.
Brigitte Hasewend is founding Director and Member of the Governing Council of the European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance - eseia. In this executive capacity, she has been responsible for devising the eseia Strategy 2030 in the context of the European Green Deal. She has also successfully coordinated a number of large scale European R&I projects with cross-sector partners from all over Europe and from neighboring countries. Since 2013 Brigitte Hasewend has worked for the European Commission as an expert evaluator for Horizon2020 projects. She was Vice-President of the Supervisory Board of Joanneum Research GesmbH from 2014-17 and has headed the International Strategic Research Partnerships at TU Graz for many years. Before re-joining TU Graz back in 2007 Brigitte Hasewend had spent 10 years living and working in Brussels. During this time she held several positions at DG Research of the European Commission.

MSc. Hana Lee joined eseia in November 2020 as Project Manager. She holds a Master's degree in Engineering Geology from Kyungpook National University in South Korea, and is currently finalizing her doctoral studies at the Institute of Applied Geosciences in Graz University of Technology, AT. Prior to eseia, she worked as a senior engineer and consultant for large international companies (WSP, Capgemini, Hyundai Engineering & Construction). She organized and coordinated science and technology seminars and conferences as general affair of Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in Austria. She has been taking part in project acquisition and coordinating the eseia Working Groups.
Richard Wheeler, EU Project Manager. Richard Wheeler is a specialist in artificial intelligence and computer science who has worked for the World Health Organisation in Geneva and The University of Edinburgh and been a research manager at laboratories in Brussels and Vienna. He is active in the field of sustainable technology and scientific management, acts as a vice-chair in a number of EU FP7 funding schemes, and recently completed a book “Success With EU Proposals”. At eseia he assists with EU project management and preparation.
Wan Jie CHEN, eseia China Business Strategy Advisor. As a business consultant, managing partner of SINOplex group, co-founder and vice-director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz as well as visiting professor at the University of Jiangsu Wan Jie Chen has almost 30 years experience and an excellent business network in China and Austria. This expertise contributes to eseia by searching for suitable project partners regarding selected EU projects and by managing the setting-up of Chinese consortia as well as the establishment of appropriate co-financing from the Chinese side. He also coordinates the intercultural communication between European and Chinese partners.

Christina Tansek recently joined eseia as Office Manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and economics. Her previous work experience is in marketing and accountancy. Christina will be responsible for office management, finance, and marketing on a part time basis while continuing her master’s work at Karl-Franzens University Graz.
Marleen Moor joined eseia in October 2020 as Communication Manager. She is enrolled in the European Studies MA programme at the University of Tartu, Estonia. During her studies, she did a traineeship at The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities in Brussels. For her Bachelor’s degree, she also holds a BA in French and International Relations from University of Tartu. Marleen has participated in Erasmus+ exchanges in France both at Sorbonne Nouvelle University and Sciences Po Paris.
