The 14th the European Conference Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems SDEWES held between 1 and 6 October 2019 in Dubrovnik, HR, brought together around 570 scientists, researchers, and experts in the field from 55 countries. It was co-organized by the eseia Member Organization the University of Zagreb, and the Portuguese Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa.
Three eseia Experts from the University of Zagreb were actively involved in the event. Prof. Neven Duić, who participated as an Experienced Researcher (ER) in the recently finalized eseia coordinated MSCA-RISE project Phoenix, gave a lecture on the topic ‘100% RES energy systems – electrification, hydrogen or e-fuels?’. His intervention was integrated into a broader panel session focused on ‘Perspectives on 100% Renewable Energy Systems around the World’. Prof. Goran Krajačić, leader of the eseia WG 3, and Prof. Milan Vujanović, ER Phoenix secondee, contributed special conference sessions: the first regarding smart cities vs. smart islands, transferability of solutions and comparison of modelling approaches; and the second on sustainable multiphase reactive processes.
From 28 June to 02 July 2020, the 4th South East sdewes Conference will take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the participation of eseia Experts.
