Parties interested in joining the two-stage H2020 calls LC-NMBP-27-2019 and CE-NMBP-25-2019 have time until 15th May to contact eseia and IMP-PAN.
The European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance (eseia), in collaboration with the Polish Institute IMP-PAN, is currently accepting expression of interests from potential partners to join the two Horizon 2020 calls on “Strengthening EU materials technologies for non-automotive battery storage” (LC-NMBP-27-2019), and “Photocatalytic synthesis” (CE-NMBP-25-2019).
At the centre of both calls, the need to transition towards a low-carbon, competitive economy in Europe. While LC-NMBP-27-2019 pursues this aim by using advanced materials and nanotechnologies to strengthen the battery storage value chain, CE-NMBP-25-2019 focuses instead on the efficient storage and utilisation of solar energy in the form of chemicals or chemical energy.
LC-NMBP-27-2019 is prompting participants to use the existing EU value-chain as starting point to develop cheaper, safer, and more efficient battery storage solutions thanks to the adoption of less expensive and more performant materials, such as novel advanced electrode materials, packaging, chemistries, cell design and battery component. By contrast, CE-NMBP-25-2019 aims at improving the overall solar-to hydrogen efficiency at least by 20% thanks to the development of cheap materials and integrated processes/devices that are able to convert CO2 and H2O into fuels and/or chemicals
Both Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) calls have deadlines on 22nd January 2019 for the first-stage, and on 3rd September2019 for the second-stage.
Interested parties are welcomed to express their interest to eseia and IMP-PAN by 15th May 2018.
